Andrea Stone, BrandJuice Managing Director and fearless leader, is the spotlight of our February employee profile. We sat down for a Q&A to deep dive into her refreshing way of thinking and insightful vision that drives our team every day.
Tell us about where you grew up?
Marin County in the Bay Area. It’s gorgeous green. And I never get used to being away from the water. But now I’m happy to call Colorado home.
What brand is your personality most aligned with?
Hmm. Prana? Although one of my favorite lines is courtesy of Kate Spade: “She is quick and curious and playful and strong.”
What led you to choosing this profession?
Living in Europe, I realized first-hand the power of communications. My first international marketing job was for NBC, and I was hooked. Over the years, communications and marketing led to a passion for holistic branding because of its depth, creativity and impact.
Who inspires you? Who do you aspire to be like?
I am inspired by the grace and wisdom of so many. And the optimism and enthusiasm I get to live thru my kids everyday—I love their lens that anything is possible.
What’s your most irrational fear?
Heights. Oh, and photos.
If you could keep only 5 possessions, what would they be?
My boys, all of them. And my photos. Interesting given #5 above, right?
What are you drinking come five o’clock?
Rich chardonnay or a solid amber micro brew. Coin toss. And pending weather.
Best restaurant in Denver?
Old school, but still hard to top Sushi Den. Special memories there.
What’s the best book you’ve read so far this year?
One Word is a good one, to the point and with intention.
When you’re in need of creative inspiration, where do you go? What do you do?
Usually to yoga or for a run. I do my best thinking when I sweat, it’s true.
What was the last picture you took with your phone?
The snow! And our yellow lab Sadie, who protects her three big brothers around the house yet snuggles like a baby.
If you could give your younger self any advice, what would it be?
This goes back to books…”What I know now.” Have peace and patience.
What’s the best part about working at BrandJuice?
The inspiration I am lucky to share in—with our team, with our clients and the brands we build. I am grateful for the trust in, and power of, what we create together. And (this is important!) the laughter…there’s lots of it.
